Dr. Mei Gao is a Principal Research Scientist and the Team Leader of the Printable Photovoltaics (PV) team at Australia’s national science agency, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO). She earned her PhD in 2003 from the University of Wollongong, Australia. With over two decades of experience in research and development, Dr. Gao has made various contributions in areas such as biomaterials, nanomaterials and conducting polymers. Since 2011, Dr. Gao's research has primarily focused on the development of organic photovoltaics and perovskite solar cells on flexible substrates to achieve facile, solution-processible, reproducible, and fully printable high-performance single-junction and module devices via high throughput roll-to-roll printing process for various applications from terrestrial to space satellites. Dr. Gao has received numerous awards for her contributions to science and technology, including the prestigious CSIRO Medal for Research Achievement.
